Delaware officials have selected a new homeland security adviser.
The state Department of Safety and Homeland Security announced Thursday that Raymond Holcomb will oversee state homeland security projects to ensure all counterterrorism measures are utilized. Holcomb most recently served as a federal counterterrorism adviser and fills a position open after the retirement of Kurt Reuther.
During a 23-year career in the FBI, Holcomb served as an investigator for domestic and overseas terrorist incidents, including attacks on the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, the U.S. Navy destroyer USS Cole in Yemen and the Marriott Hotel in Indonesia.
He is a graduate of the University of Delaware and Seton Hall University School of Law in New Jersey. He practiced law for seven years prior to joining the FBI.
