Delaware National Guard Hosts Holiday Concert

The Delaware National Guard is offering up holiday music and asking for the public's help in making the holidays a little merrier for the less fortunate.

The Guard is presenting its 16th annual holiday concert on Wednesday evening at the Grand Opera House in Wilmington.

Gov. Jack Markell and other officials will be on hand for the free concert, which features a performance by the Guard's 287th Army Band.

It's being held in conjunction with a food drive to help fight the Guard in its statewide ``War on Hunger,'' a partnership with the Food Bank of Delaware.

Concertgoers are asked to bring a nonperishable food item and can take advantage of free parking at the nearby DoubleTree Hotel.
