Delaware Man Charged in Murder-For-Hire Plot

A federal grand jury in Maryland has indicted a Delaware man in what prosecutors say is a murder-for-hire plot.

Thirty-one-year-old Marquis Antwan Mack of Dover was charged Monday with using a telephone and interstate travel in a murder for hire. He's being held without bond after a judge found he's a flight risk and poses a threat to the community.

Mack's attorney didn't immediately answer a request for comment Tuesday morning.

A federal investigator says in court records that Mack met three times with an undercover officer in Queenstown and Centreville, Maryland, and at the Dover Downs Casino to arrange two murders.

The investigator says the planned killings were in retaliation for the August shooting death of Mack's cousin in Dover, which was found to be in self-defense.
