Gov. Jack Markell is taking part in a national conference on workforce innovation in Washington.
Markell was to speak Monday at the Advancing Workforce Innovation forum.
Markell will join the CEO of the National Association of Workforce Boards to discuss the successful implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, and navigating the challenges state governments face relating to education and workforce development issues.
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, signed by President Obama last year, is designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need.
