Del. Woman Dies After Being Hit by Forklift

The accident happened at the Eastern Metal Recycling in New Castle, Del.

Delaware State Police say 53-year-old Robin Godfrey died Monday afternoon after being hit by a forklift and pinned against a wall.

Godfrey, of Wilmington, was a customer of Eastern Metal Recycling on the 4000 block of New Castle Avenue in New Castle, Del.

Police say an employee of the recycling center was using the forklift to place a large metal container on the ground. The employee got off the forklift and it began to roll backwards, according to police.

The employee jumped back on the forklift but was unable to regain control. Police say Godfrey was pronounced dead at the scene.
