Del. Police Ask FBI to Review Fatal Stabbings

Police are asking the FBI to review two fatal stabbings of women in Wilmington.

Chief Christine Dunning told The News Journal on Wednesday that no evidence links the cases, but the request made last month will give police an "extra set of eyes." Police have no suspects in the cases and have made no arrests.

In the first case, 34-year-old Samantha Neuwien was found bludgeoned and stabbed on July 12 inside her apartment above her family's appliance business. She died after 16 days in a coma. On Aug. 8, 32-year-old Janeal Jones was found stabbed to death among the brush on East 14th Street.

Police spokesman Cpl. Mark Ivey says cases with female stabbing victims are unusual and the FBI will review whether there are similarities in the cases.
