Death of Man Found Beaten at Trucking Firm Ruled a Homicide

Police are interviewing a person of interest in the death of a worker and veteran found beaten inside a southern New Jersey trucking company.

Camden County prosecutors say county police found 66-year-old Harry Hogans Jr. shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday at the River Road Trucking Company in Camden. When they arrived they found him unconscious inside the business, sitting in a reclining chair and bleeding from his mouth. The Camden resident was rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

An autopsy determined he died from blunt force trauma to the head and his death was ruled a homicide.

Hogans worked at the trucking company for more than 20 years and was a military veteran.

Sources told NBC10 the person of interest is a man who knew Hogans and worked with him. No charges have been filed.

A motive for the attack remains under investigation.

"He's a good person and an honest person," said William Velez, a co-worker.

Police are reviewing a surveillance video from the trucking company.
