‘Dear X-ing' Sign Plays on Pun to Help Keep Kids Safe

Deliberately misspelled signs are using puns to help keep schoolkids safe in a Philadelphia suburb.

Signs reading "Dear X-ing" recently sprung up in Haverford Township. One is near the Chatham Park Elementary School on the 400 block of Allston Road.

The sign caught a lot of residents' attention with what appears to be a glaring spelling mistake -- but a township official says he combined his love of puns with his mission to keep the streets safe for kids to come up with the idea for the signs.

There are currently two of the "punny" signs in the township, but more will likely be installed.
