Today, investigators are expected to comb through the wreckage of a single-engine plane that crashed on a wooded hilltop near the Delaware River in New Jersey, killing the pilot.
The debris was found in a remtoe location off Route 627 in Holland Township almost five hours after authorities scoured the New Jersey and Pennsylvania sides of the river on Wednesday.
Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony Kearns III tells The Star-Ledger of Newark a person had reported a low-flying plane sounded like it may have crashed. But the person couldn't pinpoint the location.
The name of the pilot has not yet been released.
"There does not appear to be any other victims at this time," Kearns said. "The pilot was the only person on board this aircraft."
An exact cause of the crash is pending the investigation.
