A woman and a child were killed Monday in a serious traffic crash on Philadelphia’s Kelly Drive.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. near the Strawberry Mansion Bridge.

A car driven by 34-year-old Karen Watts and a minivan collided. Watts, a Roxborough resident, and her passenger, 11-year-old Quinn Fleming, were killed, according to Philadelphia Police.

Police didn't know the relationship between Watts and Quinn but they did say the two lived at the same address.

It's believed that Watts was speeding at the time of the crash, police said.

A woman in the minivan was rushed to the hospital where she remained in critical condition Wednesday, officials said.

Kelly Drive was closed from the Strawberry Mansion Bridge to Fountain Green for several hours. It reopened after the crash was cleared.
