Woman Gets Probation for Lying About 2012 Crash That Killed Teen

A southeastern Pennsylvania woman has been sentenced to three years of probation in what authorities called a cover-up in an accident that killed a teenager more than three years ago.

The (Pottstown) Mercury reports that 46-year-old Denise Dinnocenti apologized Friday as she was sentenced in Montgomery County on obstruction, hindering apprehension or prosecution and other counts.

Authorities allege that 46-year-old Robert Sitler Jr. of Collegeville was driving a pickup truck that killed 16-year-old Timothy Paciello Jr. in Lower Pottsgrove Township in November 2012, but he and Dinnocenti lied because he had a previous manslaughter conviction in a 2004 crash in Alabama.

Defense attorney John McMahon Jr. said Dinnocenti was physically and emotionally abused but was trying to make amends by testifying against Sitler when he goes to trial.
