Homeless Man Crushed in Recycling Truck

A homeless man who took shelter in an Allentown dumpster was crushed to death by a recycling truck.

The victim, Michael A. Dempsey, recently became homeless, according to police.

When the recycling truck emptied the dumpster, Dempsey, 55, got stuck between between cardboard boxes in the back of the truck.

The Lehigh County Coroner ruled the death accidental.

Dempsey's body was discovered by workers Thursday afternoon when the recycling truck emptied out at the Liberty Recycling Center.
