Library of Congress to Preserve DNC Host Committee's Digital Platforms

When the Democratic National Convention Host Committee tapped Annie Heckenberger to lead its digital and social media department, she agreed to spend more than 12 months creating a mobile- and desktop-friendly website, and accounts for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and more, only to have the creations disappear after the convention leaves town.

"I was basically told that we would do this up until the end of the convention when the nominee was set and then we would shut down the channels," Heckenberger told the Philadelphia Business Journal.

But one call changed that. "I heard from the Library of Congress and they are going to preserve the website and archive it," she said. "And it sounds like the social channels will be preserved too."
