A man died after falling 80 to 90 feet into the hull of a ship at the Philadelphia pier, police say.
The Philadelphia Regional Port Authority has identified him as 46-year old Denis Seretinek, a Croatian man. He was rushed to Jefferson hospital but was eventually pronounced dead, according to authorities.
He reportedly fell from the deck into a ship’s empty cargo hold, which had been unloaded for departure.
A spokeswoman for the port authority says Seretinek was the chief officer of the cargo ship, the Startramp.
