Crews Resume Search for Boy Missing in Creek

Police say crews resumed their search Wednesday for a 13-year-old boy who went missing while swimming with friends in a rain-swollen Philadelphia creek two days earlier.

Brandon Boyle was swimming with his 11-year-old brother and their friends in the Pennypack Creek when he was swept away by the roiling waters Monday afternoon. His brother was rescued after being found clinging to a ledge.

Police continued searching the area for Boyle on Tuesday and Wednesday, but saw no signs of him. His great-aunt, Judy Williams, said authorities are now calling it a recovery effort, but that the family isn't ready to call it that yet.

All available emergency service forces are working on the search effort, police said, including divers, police officers, and firefighters.
