Crews Respond to House Explosion in Western Pennsylvania

Emergency crews and utility officials responded to the scene of a house explosion in western Pennsylvania Tuesday morning.

Alvin Henderson, Allegheny County's chief of emergency services, confirmed there was a report of an explosion shortly before 11 a.m. in North Braddock. But Henderson said he had not been briefed by officials at the scene.

County 911 dispatchers said the call came in at 10:49 a.m. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

But video from WPXI-TV showed significant damage to the residence along the 1200 block of Rebecca Avenue, which appeared to be unstable but not completely leveled.

It was not immediately clear which natural gas company was called to the scene.

North Braddock is a suburb about 10 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, along the Monongahela River.
