Coyote Warning in Mercer County

Residents are told to be on the alert for wild coyotes

New Jersey Health officials are warning residents in Ewing Township to be on the alert for wild coyotes.

A pack of five coyotes was spotted in the Mountain View section of the community last week.

Officials say they  feed on small animals like rabbits and mice. They could also be dangerous to your pets and can transmit rabies. You should make sure your dogs and cats are vaccinated.

If you spot a coyote, don't go near it. Call the Ewing Township health department at 609-883-2900, ext. 7691.
