Cousins Head to Trial in Double Murder

Police say a long-running family feud led to the murder of two men

Two cousins have been ordered to stand trial in eastern Pennsylvania shootings last month that killed two men and injured a third.

28-year-old Juan Claudio and 19-year-old Wilfredo Rodriguez-Claudio are charged in Berks County with first- and third-degree murder, attempted homicide and firearms offenses.

Authorities charged them in connection with the Jan. 20 slayings in Reading of 23-year-old Geovanie Collazo-Rosa and 51-year-old Efrain Lopez-Collazo following a long-running feud between families. Police said a trail of blood from the scene led them to two nearby homes where they found evidence.

According to The Reading Eagle, defense attorneys said yesterday the evidence suggests that the victims were shot by an unknown gunman in a car. But prosecutors allege that the defendants fired almost simultaneously at unarmed people in the street.
