Court Punishes Mom for Slapping Boys on the School Bus

Rebecca Sardoni says she wasn't a crazy woman.

A New Jersey mother has been sentenced to two years' probation for slapping two boys on a school bus who she claimed were bullying her daughter.

Rebecca Sardoni pleaded guilty in September to criminal trespass, disorderly person simple assault and disorderly person harassment.

The Ocean County prosecutor's office says the 29-year-old got on a Toms River school bus screaming profanities and assaulted two students in October 2012.

She said they were bullying her 9-year-old daughter.

Officials say the students were not seriously injured.

Rebecca Sardoni told The Associated Press soon after the incident she regretted boarding the bus.

She denied touching or hitting anyone.

She said she was upset, but "wasn't crazy woman upset.''
