Accused New Jersey Synagogue Bomber's Trial Could Be Moved

The trial of a North Jersey man accused of firebombing synagogues in Bergen County could be moved.

New Jersey's Supreme Court has ruled that Aakash Dalal's trial should either be moved out of the county or have a judge from another county brought in.

The court wrote Dalal wouldn't receive a fair trial from a Bergen County judge because he has been charged with making threats against two other Bergen judges.

A county judge earlier rejected Dalal's attempt, but an appeals court reversed. The Supreme Court's decision released Wednesday upheld the appellate court's decision.

Dalal and another man were arrested for the synagogue attacks in 2012. Dalal and Anthony Graziano have pleaded not guilty to aggravated arson, conspiracy and bias intimidation charges. Each faces life in prison if convicted.
