A man is hospitalized after he was shot during a robbery while walking with his family in the city's Mayfair section.
Police tell NBC10 that a couple was walking around Levick and Mershon Streets with their 2-year-old child when they were approached by two armed men.
The suspects stole the woman's purse and shot the man in the leg when he tried to stop the robbery, according to investigators.
The male victim was spotted by police and transported to Aria-Torresdale Medical Center where he is in stable condition.
One of the suspects was located by investigators and arrested. The second suspect remains at large.
Police say the purse has been recovered.
