Couple Sues Casino Over Slots Promotion

A New York couple claims in a lawsuit that Revel Casino-Hotel's slots promotion this summer was misleading and illegal.

Nicholas and Margaret Peragine of Lake Grove, on Long Island, sued in federal court in Newark Thursday.

The lawsuit claims the promotion was misleading when it promised gamblers who lost more than $100 playing slots at Revel during July would get their money back.

The casino offered a refund in slot dollars with no cash value in the amount of 5 percent of the total loss. Gamblers also had to come to the casino each week to use the slot dollars or lose that week's allotment.

The Peragines also claim the promotion ads didn't mention restrictions or used fine print that was “virtually unreadable.”

Revel didn't immediately comment Sunday.
