Couple Leaves Kids in Car While Burglarizing Dr.'s Office: Cops

A Millsboro couple is accused of burglarizing a doctor’s office while leaving their three children in their getaway car.

Delaware state police say that 29-year-old Jamey Lathbury and his wife, 25-year-old Holly Lathbury, were involved in two separate burglaries at the Baybees Pediatrics building in Lewes, Delaware last Saturday.

One witness allegedly saw Jamey leaving his vehicle, a Chevrolet Trailblazer, around 11:53 a.m. Police say that Lathbury walked toward an outbuilding and pried off plywood.

He then reportedly went inside the building briefly before leaving and going back to his car.

Lathbury then allegedly pulled his car in front of the building and went inside once again, along with his wife Holly.

The couple allegedly stole computer monitors, swords, Disney figurines and camera equipment. Police say the total value of the stolen items is around $1500.

While burglarizing the building, the couple allegedly left their seven, six and five-year-old children inside the car.

State police say that another witness saw Lathbury’s car parked near the rear of the Pediatrics building around 6:30 p.m. that same day.

During that incident, Jamey and David Carty of Millsboro allegedly entered the outbuilding and stole additional items.

Both Jamey and Holly were charged with burglary and related crimes on Monday. Police are still searching for Carty however.
