Couple Admits Running Dirty Day Care

Bucks County couple pleaded guilty Monday to operating an illegal day care center in Bristol Township.

A suburban Philadelphia couple has admitted running an unlicensed day care shut down last year after a parent reported them to child welfare authorities.

Lisa Swenson and Lamar Rieck pleaded guilty Monday to charges stemming from the shutdown of their Affordable Daycare operation in Bristol Township, Bucks County.

Authorities say the couple lied about certifications and kept the children in unsafe conditions.

Investigators said they found a mentally disabled man living in a feces-filled room at the home in exchange for his Social Security benefits. In a bedroom investigators say a little girl was strapped unattended in a car seat.

The Bucks County Courier Times reports Rieck was ordered to spend at least five months in prison. Swenson will be sentenced within 60 days.
