Gov. Tom Corbett and his wife bought a $265,000 vacation home without reporting the purchase on the governor's annual financial disclosure statement.
StateImpact/NPR reported Tuesday that public records obtained through an open-records request show the deed and mortgage documents were filed in December for the condo in a beachfront resort community in Hilton Health Island, S.C.
But Corbett did not report the transaction as required by a 1984 executive order known as the Governor's Code of Conduct.
Corbett spokeswoman Kelli Roberts initially said the governor was confused by language on the reporting form that excludes a principal residence and thought he could exclude the vacation home.
She said the governor's office will amend the report.
