Ryan McCall was a senior at the University of Tampa looking forward to the rest of his life but that life was cut tragically short after the Downingtown, Pa.-native was gunned down during a robbery near his school.

The 21-year-old college student was in the wrong place at the wrong time when he was shot and killed during a robbery in Tampa, Fla. last week.

Family and friends gathered in McCall’s hometown Wednesday night to say goodbye to the all-American kid before his burial Thursday. He was remembered as a member of his University’s track team and a huge Philly sports fans who was captivating to everyone he met, said friends.

And McCall’s loved ones asked for help in solving his murder. Tampa police had an idea of what happened to McCall but they still didn’t know who shot him.

McCall and a friend were walking home from a Tampa bar around 3 a.m. on August 19 when they were attacked, said Tampa police. McCall’s friend, who was in town from Philly, got away but Ryan wasn’t as lucky.

Tampa Police could really use help from anyone with information, according to family members.
