Cold Case Revisited, Woman Charged With Murder of Her Son

A Florida woman arrested in 1991 for murder of her 5-year-old son in New Jersey will return to face a high-profile, 23-year-old murder charge.

Attorney Robert Watson tells The Home News Tribune Michelle Lodzinski will waive extradition when she appears Thursday in court in Martin County, Florida.

"She's looking forward to being able to let the facts speak and get this behind her," Watson said.

Lodzinski was arrested Aug. 6 -- which would have been her son, Timothy Wiltsey's 29th birthday -- and charged with his murder.

She had said the boy disappeared at a carnival, but investigators said her story kept changing.

His skeletal remains were found by a birdwatcher in a marshy area of Edison, New Jersey, 11 months later.

Officials said Lodzinski failed at least one lie detector test.

Investigators have not said what led them to charge Lodzinski.

She was arrested on her way home from her paralegal job in Port St. Lucia, Fla., where she lives with her two teenage sons.
