Code Blue Issued for Burlington and Montgomery Counties

A Code Blue is called when the combination of air temperature and wind chill is anticipated to be 20ºF or less

With a severe winter storm expected to bring freezing temperatures, high winds, and wind chill factors into the teens overnight, Burlington and Montgomery counties have issued a Code Blue Cold Weather Emergency.

In Burlington County the alert will be in effect beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday through 9 a.m. Friday. In Montgomery County the alert will be in effect 6 p.m. Thursday until 6 p.m. Friday.

A Code Blue declaration is made when winter conditions pose a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter. When a Code Blue is enacted it provides for short-term emergency sheltering.
