Jose Carrasquillo, the man accused of kidnapping and raping an 11-year-old girl, admitted in court Monday morning that he has mental health issues.

The child rape suspect, who was captured after he was beaten by a mob, disclosed the diagnosis before waiving a preliminary hearing. Details about his condition were not disclosed.

Carrasquillo, 26, is accused of forcing the girl at gunpoint behind a building in Kensington as she walked to school on June 2.  The alleged sexual assault was so vicious the victim had to undergo surgery.

He is also accused of fondling a 16-year-old girl that same morning. The teen told prosecutors Carrasquillo groped her breasts at a bus stop near Dauphin Street. She managed to run from him, but Carrasquillo followed her to her school cafeteria, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

A judge upheld charges related to both girls and set an Aug. 17 arraignment.
