Child Still Hospitalized with Head Injury After Hit-and-Run

A child remains hospitalized with a head injury after a hit-and-run in Montgomery County.

The 5-year-old, a twin and their 46-year-old mother were crossing Lancaster Avenue at Bryn Mawr Avenue in Bryn Mawr, Pa. at 1:30 p.m. Thursday when they were hit by a black pickup truck, according to Lower Merion Police.

The pickup, described by police as similar to a Ford F-150, made a turn from Bryn Mawr Avenue onto Lancaster when the family was hit. Police say the vehicle then continued west on Lancaster Avenue.

The family were taken by ambulance to nearby Bryn Mawr Hospital for treatment.

One child was then transferred to Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del. for treatment of an unspecified head injury. Police say he is listed in stable condition.

Lower Merion Police are asking anyone who may have seen the hit-and-run to call 610.649.1000.
