A Chester Police accident investigator injured when his police motorcycle collided with a hit-and-run driver was released from the hospital Saturday.
Commander Daniel Hoffman, a 12-year veteran of the force, was thrown up to 40 feet off his motorcycle after a sedan ran into the bike nearly head-on outside at 4th Street and Morton Avenue in Chester Friday afternoon. He was rushed to Crozer-Chester Medical Center for treatment and later released.
Chester Police Commissioner Joseph Bail said Hoffman didn't suffer any broken bones and was alert following the crash.
Investigators were searching for a late-90's or early-2000's model maroon or burgundy Pontiac Grand Prix with a green hood or trunk. There were not able to get a good description on the driver.
Witnesses last saw the car speeding north along Morton Avenue.
