Deadly Head-on Delaware County Crash Leaves Mangled Mess on Road

A head-on crash that left two men dead and two cars mangled along a Delaware County street might have been caused by a car trying to pass a truck.

The cars – a red and a white sedan – collided along W 2nd Street near Pusey Street in Chester, Pennsylvania shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday.

Neighbors in the area heard the loud wreck and rushed to help the victims but it was too late.

β€œHe kind of responded – grunted and then it was pretty much it,” said a witness who asked not to be identified.

Both men died at the scene.

Investigators spent much of the early morning trying to figure out exactly what led to the wreck. Witnesses said it appeared the white car was in the center lane trying to turn left onto Pusey when the red car tried to pass a truck and struck the white car.

The cars were cleared around 5 a.m.
