Two Women Charged in Fatal Club Hit-and-Run

Police say two Philadelphia women took turns running down patrons outside a Philadelphia nightclub last month, killing one woman and injuring seven other people.

Police on Tuesday charged 23-year-old Sharonda Cheeves with murder in the death of 27-year-old Alisha Moore outside Club Motivations on September 4. The Crescentville woman also faces aggravate assault, DUI, conspiracy and homicide by vehicle charges.

Cheeves' alleged accomplice, 22-year-old Jesslyn Williams, of Eastwick, faces charges including aggravated assault, simple assault and conspiracy.

A spokeswoman for the district attorney's office says both women were arrested Tuesday morning and await arraignment.

Investigators say Cheeves and Moore took turns behind the wheel after being denied entry to the club. Police say the women circled the block several times, striking three people. Authorities say Cheeves later returned by herself to strike more people, including Moore.
