Caught on Cam: Man Throws Hot Coffee on Employee

Police are on the hunt for a man who they say was caught on camera throwing hot coffee on a man and then threatening another man with a knife.

Police say the suspect entered Dean Food Market on the 1600 block of South Chadwick Street in the Point Breeze section of the city back on November 30.

The man prepared himself a cup of coffee and approached the counter. Police say the man then began to argue with a 35-year-old man about the price of the coffee. The man then threw hot coffee at the victim and then left the store, according to investigators.

Police say the suspect returned to the store a short time later and once again began to argue when a 57-year-old man stepped in to intervene. The suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened the second man before leaving the store and fleeing south on the 1600 block of Chadwick Street.

The suspect is described as a man in his late 20’s to early 30’s with a full beard. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, gray and blue cap and light blue jeans.
