One man is in custody and a police officer is injured after a barricade situation in North Philadelphia.

It happened at 10:45 a.m. on West Susquehanna Avenue. Investigators say the barricade was the result of a dispute between the suspect and his neighbor though they did not specify what kind of dispute it was. Police are also unsure if the suspect was armed though they do say he did not have anyone with him at the time of the barricade.

When police arrived, investigators say the suspect threatened police not to come inside the house. As a SWAT team gathered outside the home, an officer began to shoot the suspect with bean bag pellets as neighbors looked on. The SWAT team then broke inside the home to apprehend the man. After they broke through the door, the man jumped towards the officer and a brief scuffle broke out. During the fight, police say an officer injured his neck and lower back. He was taken to a nearby hospital where police say he is doing fine.

The suspect was taken into custody around 1:15 p.m. Police have not yet released information on the suspect’s identity or the specific charges against him.
