A mother is in critical condition after a car hit her as she was unloading a child from her own vehicle Tuesday.
The vehicle struck the 40-year-old woman along the 4600 block of Castor Avenue in the Frankford section of the city just after 10 a.m., according to authorities.
The child who was being removed from the vehicle was not hurt, according to officials.
The victim was transported to Temple University Hospital, where she is being treated for a leg injury.
Police say the driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene.
