Car Crashes Into Cheltenham Home

Police are questioning the driver of a car that crashed into the side of a house in Cheltenham Township.

Police say the unidentified driver lost control of his vehicle after striking a street sign and then continued about 70 feet into the side of a home on 2nd Street and Cheltenham Avenue shortly before 4 a.m.

“I was in the bed sleeping and all of a sudden I heard a big bang and my burglar alarm went off,” said Helen Cody, the owner of the home. “I jumped up and ran downstairs to see why it went off. I ran out of the front door and I saw a car sitting in my living room window.”

No one was injured in the crash. Police took the driver into custody and are currently questioning him. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
