Candles Cause Post-Storm Fire in NJ

Resident of the damaged home had candles lit because their power was still out from this weekend's storms.

Burning candles are to blame for an overnight fire in Hamilton Township, N.J., according to fire officials.

Fire crews were called to the home on the 6400 block of Garfield Avenue around 1:42 a.m. Tuesday.

They say the fire was caused by a burning candle that was lit because the residents were without power following the weekend's deadly storms.

The house was destroyed.

No one was injured in the blaze.
