Diane Putney Adsit chairs the Crawford County Democratic Committee and is serving as Wayne Township resident Bruce Peterson's attorney. She says he was left of the ballot by mistake, and says it's the first time anything like that has happened in the county

The Meadville Tribune reports Peterson received just two write-in votes while Republican Lee Singleton received 187 votes. Singleton was on the ballot and Peterson was not, even though both men won their respective party primaries on May 21.

A Crawford County judge will hold a hearing Wednesday on Peterson's request that a special election be scheduled within 30 days.
