A New Jersey city is having trouble carrying out part of its plan to deal with blight.
Camden officials put a contract out for bid to tear down 64 abandoned buildings around the city in the first phase of a massive wave of planned demolitions.
But the request attracted just one bid. And that contractor withdrew the offer hours after making it.
The Courier-Post of Cherry Hill reports it's not clear how the city will proceed now.
Officials say abandoned structures are havens for crime and also destructive raccoons in a city that ranks as one of the most impoverished in the nation.
