Camden Company Lands $17.5M Contract to Train Teachers at U.S. Military Bases

A Camden-based educational services company will soon help train and develop literacy skills for teachers at U.S. military bases across the globe after securing a nearly $17.5 million contract from a Department of Defense school system.

“It’s quite an honor,” said Catapult Learning’s Vice President of Professional Development Diane Rymer. “It’s new for us to be having our folks on the ground, around the world, supporting this kind of implementation."

Under the contract, more than 80 Catapult educators will enact literacy professional development programs at 168 K-12 schools in 11 countries, as well as two U.S. territories – all part of the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA).

The school system, one of just two that are federally operated, serves the children of active military members and Defense Dept. civilians.

According to the federal award notice, the approximately $17.5 million contract, awarded in May and announced by Catapult earlier this month, covers one base year of performance with three additional years of optional renewal.
