The ability of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Drexel University and Comcast to recruit new hires and offer them competitive job packages will be hurt by the city's new wage equity law, according to a newly amended lawsuit filed by the the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia that for the first time explicitly identified several organizations and business leaders opposed to the legislation.
The law, considered the first of its kind passed by a U.S. city, aims to close the gender pay gap. But the chamber has maintained the legislation will not adequately address that issue and instead creates a "not open for business" culture in the city.
