Tour bus was driving from Brooklyn, N.Y. to the Tropicana

A tour bus driver was ejected through a window and 24 people were injured in a bus vs. car accident on Route 40 in Atlantic City 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

The Sunlee Bus driving from Brooklyn was on its way to the Tropicana, police say.

Two people are in critical condition, including the bus driver. All others are in stable condition, police say.

The collision happened when traffic was backed up east bound on Route 40 and the bus was unable to stop, according to police.

The driver veered into the concrete median wall, bounced off the wall and rear-ended a car. The bus then careened into the west-bound side and went up on the sidewalk, skidding along the guardrail, police say.

Rescue crews transported 24 people to area hospitals; three of them were in critical condition. Atlantic City Police say that 25 of the bus passengers from Brooklyn were not hurt in the crash.

No fatalities have been reported as of 1:30 p.m., police say.
