Firefighters battled a fire at a historic tavern in Lower Macungie Township.
The two-alarm fire started at the Buckeye Tavern on the 3700 block of Brookside Road Tuesday around 7:30 p.m. Firefighters were able to bring the flames under control shortly after 9 p.m.
The Morning Call reports all patrons inside were evacuated. No one was injured during the incident.
The Buckeye Tavern is a local landmark that opened in 1735 as an inn and hotel. Officials have not yet revealed how extensive the damage was though footage from SkyForce10 appeared to show the tavern was completely destroyed.
Officials continue to investigate the cause.
