Break-ins Plague Washington Twp Residents

Since May 1, there have been 24 home invasions.

Police in Washington Township, N.J. are asking residents to be very aware of suspicious people and activity in their neighborhoods after a surge of daytime break-ins.

”I can’t stress enough the importance of reporting this type of activity,” said Sgt. Bill Lee of the Washington Twp. Police.

Since May 1, police say that 24 homes have been broken into.

"Investigations we have at this point indicate that these are occurring during the daytime hours," said Captain Rich Leonard of the Washington Township Police.

The homes being targeted are single family homes in the neighborhoods of Sawyers Creek, Cambridge Road, County House Road, Buffalo Run and the Grenloch community.

"I panicked and I ran up the stairs," said burglary victim Jack Kalogridis. "Her room and my room trashed, drawers open and clothes all over the place."

Police are asking residents to be aware of their surrounding and to report anything suspicious.

As of now, there are no suspects in the case.
