Boy, Man Shot in Hunting Park

A man and boy were rushed to the hospital after being shot Friday afternoon.

The shooting happened just after 5 p.m. along the 1300 block of Pike Street in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia, police say.

A 6-year-old boy was shot three times in the arm, police say. A 25-year-old man was also shot once in the leg.

Both were taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.

A neighbor told NBC Philadelphia there were about a dozen kids playing in the street when he heard the gunshots. The man says he heard at least 10 shots ring out.

The resident said a shooting in the area is uncommon, but that the corner where it happened has been increasingly known for drug activity.

There's no immediate information on a suspect. Police are investigating.
