Boy, 9, Drowns in Pennsylvania Lake While Fishing

Authorities say a 9-year-old boy drowned after he slipped into a Pennsylvania lake while fishing.

State police in Armstrong County in western Pennsylvania said Allen Miller was sitting on a boulder while fishing at Mahoning Creek Lake in Wayne Township when he slipped off the rock and fell in just after 1 p.m. Saturday. 

The Allegheny County medical examiner's office said the Dayton, Pennsylvania, boy was pulled from the lake just after 1:30 p.m. Saturday and flown to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday. The death was ruled accidental.
