Witnesses Attack Driver After 3-Year-Old Boy is Struck by Car: Police

A young boy is fighting for his life after he was struck by a car in Philadelphia late Monday afternoon.

Police say the vehicle was traveling on the 1200 block of Wagner Avenue at 5:26 p.m. when the 3-year-old boy ran between parked cars into the middle of the street. The boy was struck by the vehicle which police say stayed at the scene.

Police say the boy was briefly stuck underneath the car but witnesses managed to get him out. Police also say some witnesses attacked the driver moments after the crash. The driver was not seriously hurt however.

The boy was taken to the Einstein Medical Center where he is currently in critical condition.
