Delaware State Police arrested a 16-year-old boy after he allegedly brought a BB gun to school Thursday morning.
According to investigators, on the way to school the unidentified Lake Forest High Schooler showed a classmate a BB gun. When the bus arrived at school around 7:10, the other student told a teacher about the incident and a School Resource Officer detained the student.
Police say they found a plastic BB gun and a clip loaded with BBs when they searched the boy’s backpack.
The boy’s parent was called to the school to pick up the teen as he was issued a criminal summons for carrying a concealed dangerous instrument -- a misdemeanor.
He is set to be tried in Kent County Family Court.
