Bonner, Prendie Students Unite in Song

During a Monday mass, students expressed emotions over school closing, through song

It's an emotional time as students try to come to terms with the school closure announcements, made Friday by the Philadelphia Archdiocese.

Some schools are joining together in rallies, vigils, and in song.

On Monday, students of Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast came together for a mass, to express their feelings of loss, that their high school is one of four high schools shutting down.

A YouTube video, posted by a Bonner senior who will be part of the last graduating class for the school, shows students locking arms and singing.

According to the Blue Ribbon Commission's Strategic Plan posted online, enrollment has decreased by 52% for Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Predergast over the past eleven years.

According to the report, current enrollment is 939 students, which is just over 31% of the school's capacity.
